House husband for a day

I played house husband yesterday, taking a day of leave to be around while a repair guy did some minor repairs in preparation for getting the house ready to sell. It was nice. I was still feeling a bit poorly from the sickness of last week and appreciated the rest, and I played plenty of classical guitar, computer games, and cooked spag bol for dinner. Von and I went for a jog. I could really get used to a four day week.

More sickness

Von and I were both sick and off work on Thursday. It was a continuation of the illness from Tuesday, along with some disgusting extra details on which I shall not dwell.
Von cooked up some vegetable soup and we played “Beyond Good and Evil” and some hidden object and puzzle games, and I designed a puzzle for the puzzle competition. Everything except for the soup was done in bed. Back at work today, feeling somewhat emptier.

Fast paced

Oooh, everything’s going so *fast* at the moment. Maybe I should be taking another sick day. Eyes: sore. Stomach: uneasy, disquieted. Muscles: cat-stretchy.

Urgle. Keep piling it on, Tuesday… I’m not done yet…

Sick

Urgh. Sick today. Absolutely no point in getting out of bed; the weather is humid and outside the bedroom, the temperature is steadily rising to itchingly uncomfortable.
So, lying in bed, watching DVDs on my laptop. Worse ways of spending a day.

Weekend

A weekend of guitar (Villa-Lobos’ Prelude #1, for the most part) and exercise. Von and I went for a very pleasant walk in Lane Cove National Park. It’s been a while since I voluntarily went bushwalking, and we were both enthusiastic so we slathered on the sunscreen and discovered a really cool boardwalk through mangroves that had me vowing to do some kind of filming there some day.
Aaand… we started looking at selling the house and moving somewhere closer to work. Exciting! It’s still early days yet, but it’ll be nice to cut the commute by a half hour each way. That’s an extra hour of sleep.
Oh, and I did a bit more scriptwriting on the Cars short film.
