Easy Listening

It’s a big enough umbrella for the daughter of the devil himself. I realized she probably was right – when I wake up, well, I know I’m gonna be reborn as fortune’s child to judge this Welsh Rarebit wearing mercury shootin through every degree.

All I can think is that it’s something to do with The Proclaimers. But I’m not convinced I know whether I’m even answering the right question.

  2. Kate Says:

    Wild Mix.

  3. Lexifab Says:

“That doesn’t help!” he exclaimed, still mystified.

So, you recognised “when I wake up, well, I know I’m gonna be”. Recognise any other bits? Google helps. Kate’s answer is almost right, but one letter off.

    Police – ? – Paul Simon – Proclaimers – Sting – beatles – B52s

    ….is there a theme here?

Was it Paul Simon’s 52nd birthday?

    Rock & Roll numbers?

  10. Marco Polo-shirt Says:

perhaps roman letters for the numbers…

let me not spell it out to spoil it

  11. Lexifab Says:

Righto – got it eventually. Hmm. I think I suck. No, really.

But the podcast is great. Go listen to that and pay no attention to how much I’m rubbish at figuring out puzzles…

  12. Marco Polo-shirt Says:

Yep , done that – It really is easier to listen than to a CD. Of course you realise that you will have to do more of them, so as to cover the whole gamut of songs and in jokes that work well on “radio”
