New Home!
July 31st 2009 -
We have the keys. We wandered around inside last night after our semi-weekly games-with-Kat session (Dominion and Guitar Hero). We have a new home.
One until-now-unforseen problem is that the driveway is quite long and sloped, and you can’t turn around. At some point you would have do to do a long reverse. However, it’s quite easy to park on the street.
This weekend: new carpet quote. Much relaxing.

Congratulations! Good luck with the move; I just did one, and I do not enjoy the experience at all.
As a veteran of several long, curved sloped driveways, soon you learn the knack of that particular driveway. You’ll only remember the difficulty when you watch your visitors get stuck.
(Once, literally, when a friend with an unladen tray-top found he couldn’t get traction. I had to sit on the back to get enough weight over the back-wheels to let him back up the hill.)

Hooray! That is fabtabulous news.
…sorry we can’t help you move

Bummer. I’ve had back-throwing moves before, when I couldn’t afford removalists and the share house suddenly imploded.
I’ve now managed to go down the driveway without doing the scrape. Oddly, it happened because I went over it straight instead of trying to dodge around it. In the long run I might get someone to grind down the scrapy bit of concrete.

Dave – actually, we’re really taking the move slowly; we won’t be moved in until next Saturday. Hopefully it’ll be fairly relaxed!
